ABOUT
THE CUTOUTS
Specifically created and fully tested for use with Qimage, this
extensive collection of 200 different styled cutouts are a great
way to quickly and easily add new and exciting photo edges to your Qimage prints,
giving them an attractive, distinctive look. They're particularly useful in
enhancing the
appearance of framed prints. To ensure the cutouts retain their edge styles (no obvious jaggies),
and fade types preserve their smooth transition areas when applied to
large prints, they have been
created as 2500x2500 300dpi jpeg files.
When
previewed the oval cutouts are circular in shape, with the
rectangular collection being more or less square shaped. However, when
applied to a print they are stretched to fit the image then stretched
again to fit the paper giving them their oval and rectangular appearance.
The cutouts, which include deckled, ripped, feathered edge and fade
styles are equally
effective used in either portrait or landscape orientation, and at $18.00 US
are a cost effective way to add multiple new styles
to your Qimage cutouts collection.
COPY THE CUTOUTS INTO QIMAGE
Cutouts should be copied from their CD-ROM disc folders then pasted
into Qimage's cutouts folder, which
by default is located at; "C:\Program files\Qimage\Cutouts". Total
file size to be copied = 52.6MB.
The cutouts are added to your prints from within Qimage's Batch
Filter window via its cutout function, and their file names will
appear in the Batch Filter window's Cutout section's drop
down list. The first time you open
Qimage's Cutout Preview window after adding the new cutouts
the thumbnail previews should update automatically. If they don't, follow these steps;
• With at least one photo in the queue, open Qimage's Batch Filter
window
• Left click Cutout button located in the Image
Effects section
• On the Cutout Preview window left click the third icon from the left
• On the Confirm box left click Yes
Please note; on older, slower computers thumbnail updating could take a
few minutes.
FADING TO COLOURS OTHER THAN WHITE
To enable a cutout to fade to a colour
other than white (default
fade colour)
follow these steps;
• From inside Qimage's Cutouts folder create a copy of the original
cutout file
• Rename the copy, retaining the original file name but adding the fade
colour identifier enclosed in square brackets as part of the file name
(with the first two numbers separated by commas); e.g. qovaldk_003.jpg to
qovaldk_003[0,128,0].jpg, produces a cutout fading to green while at the
same time retaining the cutout's original shape
Please note; if you would like your prints to fade into the page
background colour as set in Qimage's main window preview page, do not add
any fade colour identifier numbers to any of the original cutout
files.
Comprehensive information about cutouts can be
found in Qimage's help files.
